Ms Bernice Moore

Bernice Moore was born on October 11, 1944 in Nashville, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully at her residence of 3024 Duke Road in Nashville on Wednesday March 17, 2021. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Vernell and Lucille Moore and grandson, Kenneth Kishon Moore; four brothers, Cephas Moore, Daniel Moore, John Moore (Nancy) and Donnell Moore; and four sisters, Everta Arrington, Mary Abraham, Geraldine Moore, and Joyce Moore. Bernice leaves to cherish her memories, her surviving relatives; son, Kenneth Moore (Daphne) and one daughter, Tashona Arrington-Moore. Four grandchildren, LaKenya Moore, Malik Moore, Imani Moore, Olani McFarlane and great granddaughter, Kymora Moore. One sister, Gloria Lewis (Robert). Three brothers, Orlando Moore, Robert Moore (Terry), and Forrest Moore (Betty) and one sister-n-law, Jackie Moore. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews who she cared for and regarded as her own children, a host of extended relatives and friends to cherish her precious memory. Bernice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 11, 1974; and she found immense joy in attending Christian meetings and participating in field service. She enjoyed discussing the daily text with family members. Her favorite times of the year were the conventions and assemblies. We will remember Bernice for her industriousness both at work and home. She worked as a nursing assistant at North Central Bronx Hospital in New York City for 32 years. Bernice was known for her great spirit of kindness and generosity. She found joy in supporting others through difficult times. If you wanted to have fun with Bernice, you would sit down and play a hand of cards and enjoy a meal with steamed cabbage, stewed potatoes, fried chicken, cornbread, lemon pound cake and sweet ice-tea. True to form, Bernice’s labor of love was maintaining a clean home (if presented with the opportunity, she would clean your home too). Also, she enjoyed the various house chores of washing, folding, and ironing clothing for her family. Bernice always had practical advice to share for the “foolish and inexperienced”— she nurtured many nieces and nephews with motherly advice. We will miss our dearly loved mother, sister, aunt and friend (Bernice Moore) and hoping to see her soon in a Paradisaic earth.
